I began by modeling the studio environment is Solidworks. To me, it was easier to create things and alter things in Solidworks, but that’s probably just because I am not very comfortable using Sketchup yet.
After creating my models in Solidworks I sat in the studio and really spent time analyzing the space for strengths that could be improved, weaknesses that need to be dealt with, cool improvements that I would love to see in the space, and places where data could be collected to help inform us further about how the studio is used. I then drew on top of my models to roughly sketch in some of the concepts that I was playing with. This allowed me to see flow of how I personally use the space and think outloud in a sense.
